Syncing with your Mac
1Password for Mac is a separate application available on our website. You need to download and install this application in order to sync data between your iPhone or iPod touch and your Mac.
The iPhone application can synchronize data with any Mac a Wi-Fi connection. Both the iPhone and Mac need to be connected to the same local network. In most cases it means that both the iPhone and Mac will have to reside close to each other, in the same building. It is not possible to synchronize data with remote computers using an Internet connection at this time.
Enabling Wi-Fi Sync
After the application is installed on the iPhone, select the Sync tab at the bottom of the screen. You will see “Searching Local Network” on the screen:

On your Mac, open the 1Password application and select Sync to iPhone from the Sync menu to display Sync to iPhone window shown below. Make sure that both Enable secure Wi-Fi syncing and Allow new Sync Requests are checked:

A short time after you enable secure Wi-Fi syncing on your Mac, you will see an icon representing your Mac displayed on the iPhone:

Authorizing Sync

Only authorized devices are allowed to connect to the 1Password Mac application for syncing. Tap the Request Sync button to begin authorization.

A random number will be generated and it will send the request to the Mac. To accept the authorization request, enter the same number on your Mac and click the Accept button:

After the authorization process is completed you can turn off the Allow new Sync Requests checkbox to prevent other devices from trying to connect to your Mac.
