Sending a Troubleshooting Report

When there is an issue, it would be great for our support team to come to your house and see the problem directly. Screen Sharing in Leopard is an option, but sadly it is not always practical. That’s why we built a reporting feature into 1Password.

1Password’s “Send Diagnostics” feature will collect information about the type of computer and the version of OS X you’re running, along with other information that will help us help you: your 1Password version, the version of the various web browsers installed on your computer, whether 1Password is enabled in those browsers, log files, etc., and allow you to send them to us for review. You are able to review all the information we collect before deciding to submit the report to us.

You can find the Send Diagnostics item in the Help menu:

The Send Diagnostics window includes space for you to supply your name and email address, along with a description of the problem you are experiencing.

Please fill all the fields:

  1. You’re a real person and we’d prefer to treat you like one. We find that a real name works a lot better than “hey, you.”
  2. Your email address is the only way we have to get in contact with you. Be sure to type it correctly.
  3. Briefly describe your problem.
  4. Your system diagnostics will be collected automatically. You can review the details to see exactly what information is sent.

Note that the email and name fields will be pre-populated using the Me card in your Address Book, if available.
