1Password Preferences: Autosave Rules

To see the Autosave Rules preferences, select 1Password > Preferences > Autosave Rules:

1Password Autosave Preferences

Automatically Save Web Logins With Autosave

When the Autosave Preference is enabled, you will be prompted to save a new Login every time a form with a password field is submitted. For example, after logging in to GMail for the first time, you will be prompted to save the login:

Autosave Window

This prompt will appear when a unique password for the current website is detected. If you have multiple logins for the same site that use the same password, you will need to manually select Save Form from the 1Password toolbar icon.

Prompt for Name

By default 1Password will prompt you for the name to use when saving new Logins. If Prompt for name to assign newly created Web Form is disabled, then 1Password will automatically generate a name for the new form and save it without prompting.

Avoiding Autosave on Specific Domains

If you select Never For This Website in the Autosave Window, the domain for the site will be added to the Autosave Rules list. 1Password will not prompt you to autosave any logins for sites with domains listed.

You can remove entries from this list using the minus button. You can also add entries by using the Plus button, but most often rules will be added from within your web browser.
